Manson hits personal best in high jump, falls short of American record

Andra Manson didn't break the ancient American high jump record Saturday. But for the first time, he now considers it a realistic possibility.

Manson, the former Longhorn and 2008 Olympian, thrilled the Texas Relays crowd, not to mention himself, with a personal-best clearance of 7 feet, 81/2 inches on the final day of the 82nd annual meet at Myers Stadium. He then took a shot at a real thrill.
