Walkersville senior Jon Hill woke up Friday morning and could have jumped out of bed. That's how much spring he felt in his legs.

Usually when that is the case, an amazing feat is likely to ensue.

And so it unfolded later that day at the season-opening Frederick-Washington County Invitational at Hagerstown Community College, where Hill uncorked a personal-best leap of 7 feet, 2 inches to win the high jump.
