Donald Thomas is not the national record holder in the high jump.

Troy Kemp, 2.38 metres (7-8) has that distinction and is also the Commonwealth co-record holder. Thomas' best is 2.35 metres.

However, although he has been competing internationally only since 2006, his body of quality work is greater than that of Kemp who was world champion in 1995.

Thomas was the world champion in 2007, a Pan American Games silver medallist and also a World Athletics Final gold medallist the same year.
