2004: Jumped a season best 2.28m (7-5.75) in his first meet of the year at the Kansas Relays. Won a meet in Santo Domingo with 2.27m (7-5.25). Placed 2nd at the Prefontaine Classic 2.25m (7-4.5). Made the finals of the Olympic Trials where he finished 14th jumping 2.14m (7-0.25). Finished the season with a best jump of 2.28m (7-5.75).

2003: Jumped a season best indoors of 2.24m (7-4.25) to place 5th at the USA indoor champs. Jumped 2.15m (7-0.5) in a meet outdoors.

2002: Indoors won several smaller meets then took the show to the USA champs where he won with 2.32m (7-7.25) which was a season best jump. Outdoors jumped 2.25m (7-4.5) to place 5th at the Prefontaine meet. Then again went to USAs and stepped it up big time again with a 2.32m (7-7.25) which was good enough for the win. Finished the season with best jumps of 2.32m (7-7.25) for both indoors and outdoors.
