Personal Information:

Favorite Place to Jump:  University of Texas – Two state finals appearances (1st and 2nd) and set current PB at Texas Relays. Big apron and good hard surface.

Favorite HJ Story: After qualifying for the 2008 State Finals, my dad and I checked the stats for the jumpers that made the finals. My dad and I talked and he told me straight up that 6’10” was going to win the meet. He told me that the first person to jump that height would win and that I would be the person to do it.  I was confident, but he was even more confident than I was. Well, the finals came around and there were 4 jumpers left at 6’9” (Isaiah Clements, Jeff Herron, Josh Poe, myself). Isaiah was on fire that day. He had made all of his jumps on the first attempt and I was a little worried about that. All of us cleared 6’9” with me going to my final jump before clearing it. Isaiah had the first attempt at 6’10” and had his first miss of the day. I was next and cleared it on my first attempt. Jeff was next and missed as did Josh. Jeff was the only other jumper to clear 6’10” and he did it on his final attempt. By being the first to clear 6’10”, I won the championship and my dad turned out to be absolutely correct.

Favorite Music:  Lil Wayne, Lil Boosie among others
