2005: Matt finally won his first USA outdoor champs title with a season best jump of 2.27m (7-5.25). He then went to the world champs where he made the finals and eventually finished 11th with a 2.20m (7-2.5) jump. Season best indoors 2.31m (7-7) and 2.27m (7-5.25) Outdoors.

1994: Finished 4th at the SEC Champs with a 2.17m (7-1.5) jump which was a season best.

1993: Finished 8th at the NCAA Outdoor Champs and 15th at the USA Outdoor Champs. He had a season best of 2.25m (7-4.5).

1992: Had a season best jump indoors of 2.10m (6-10.75).

1991: In his senior year of high school he finished tied for 8th at the 2001 USA junior meet. Had a season best jump of 2.23m (7-4).
